Hi! My name is Susan Dang and I'm a game designer and artist from Melbourne.

I completed a Bachelor of Design: Games at RMIT in 2016 and have been in the industry for 9 years now.
 
I first worked at Zero Latency, a Multiplayer, Free Roam Virtual Reality company, landing the job half way through my third and final year of uni. There, I worked as the only Animator for a year and a half at this studio, whilst also being mentored as a 3D artist. My first released game Engineerium won Gold as 'Product of the Year' at IAPPA in 2017. This game featured animations, 3D art and concept art that I created.

Since leaving Zero Latency I have worked on several projects through my Freelance work. I worked with a ZL colleague at Studio Qinoko on Eri's Forest: a Tower Defense mobile game. I did animation, 3D modelling and texturing on this game. I've worked with Bail! Enemy Jet on Ugly Dolls AR (working with Alibaba) and Brawlerz Zombies! doing animation and rigging for both. I've worked with Monash University through the games company Io Normal also as an animator and a rigger. I worked at Ghost Pattern under the wing of the incredible Aspen Forster working on Wayward Strand! Here I did 3D modelling, animation, QA testing and Social Media. Wayward Strand won the Narrative Award at the Freeplay Awards in 2024 and was Nominated for Narrative and Sound awards at the AGDA's 2022. Since then I've worked at SMG on an unannounced game and on Risk (mobile) on a collaboration with Inner Sloth that brought Among Us to the game!

I love games that explore emotions that aren't just fun (fun is great as well!) and tell stories in unique ways, or are ambiguous in a way that lets people find their own meaning. 

Gender Equality is incredibly important to me and I'm constantly working towards equity in the games industry and in society in general.
